General Terms and Conditions Bed & Breakfast Ravelin
§1 Scope
These General Terms and Conditions apply to all reservations, agreements, and stays at Bed & Breakfast Ravelin , located in Rees-Mehr, Germany.
These General Terms and Conditions are drawn up in accordance with the provisions of the German Civil Code (Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch – BGB), in particular §§ 305 to 310 BGB concerning General Terms and Conditions.
The General Terms and Conditions become part of the agreement when the guest is made aware of these conditions before or when making the reservation, has the opportunity to familiarize themselves with them, and agrees to their applicability.
Individual written agreements between Bed & Breakfast Ravelin and the guest take precedence over these General Terms and Conditions.
§2 Conclusion of the agreement
The agreement comes into effect as soon as a reservation is confirmed by Bed & Breakfast Ravelin
Reservations can be made via the website, booking platforms, by phone, email, WhatsApp or other reservation options offered by Bed & Breakfast Ravelin
§2.1 No non-binding reservations or options
A request, telephone conversation, quote, or request to hold rooms does not constitute a reservation. We do not hold rooms or stay dates tentatively or provisionally. Rooms are reserved exclusively when there is a valid booking that has been confirmed in writing by us.
Until a confirmed booking exists, the rooms remain available to other guests.
When a booking is cancelled, the reservation is fully forfeited and the rooms are released back into availability. For a new stay, a new booking is required at the prevailing rates and terms at the time of the new booking.
§3 Services and Prices
Bed & Breakfast Ravelin offers accommodation as described on the website and via affiliated booking platforms.

Unless otherwise stated, breakfast, minibar consumption, charging costs for electric vehicles, and other additional services are not included in the room rate.
Breakfast is only available upon prior reservation due to purchasing, preparation, and staffing considerations.
§3.1 Breakfast, dinner, and BBQ
Breakfast, dinner and BBQ are, insofar as they are offered by Bed & Breakfast Ravelin , offered and charged exclusively per person and per night. Deviations can be made in consultation.
The availability of a dinner or BBQ depends on the dates of stay, occupancy, and the capabilities of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin . A dinner or BBQ is only included as part of the reservation when it has been expressly confirmed by Bed & Breakfast Ravelin and is bookable on the website.
Every guest attending breakfast, dinner, or the BBQ must pre-register and pay the applicable rate. This also applies if a guest only partially uses the respective meal.
When making a reservation, the meal option corresponding to the guest's actual age at the time of stay must always be chosen. For children aged 3 to 5, if available, the 'Breakfast (3-5 years)' rate should be selected. If a guest does not fall within this age category, the 'Breakfast from 6 years' rate should be chosen.
When different rates are offered for adults and children for a dinner or BBQ, the option that corresponds to the actual age of the guest should also be chosen.
Sharing meals between guests or with non-registered visitors is not permitted. Non-registered visitors may only participate in a meal after obtaining prior approval from Bed & Breakfast Ravelin and upon payment of the applicable fee.
If an incorrect age category or meal option is selected, or if more people attend a meal than reserved for, Bed & Breakfast Ravelin reserves the right to adjust the reservation and the corresponding price and to charge the additional costs afterwards.
This regulation applies to both adults and children.
§3.2 Pets
Pets are only allowed with prior permission from Bed & Breakfast Ravelin .
A charge of €10.00 per dog per night is applied for bringing a dog.
The owner of the pet remains responsible at all times for the behaviour of the animal and for any damage, pollution, nuisance or additional cleaning costs that may arise as a result.
Any damage will be fully charged to the guest.
§3.3 Visitors and additional overnight stays
Receiving visitors is only permitted after prior approval from Bed & Breakfast Ravelin.
People who are not registered as guests are not allowed to stay overnight in the accommodation.
Violation of this may result in immediate termination of the stay without entitlement to a refund. Any additional costs will be charged additionally.
§3.4 Exclusive stay
Bed & Breakfast Ravelin is always exclusively rented to one group at a time.
During the stay, no other (foreign) guests are accommodated in the accommodation.
§3.5 Electric vehicles
Charging electric vehicles is only permitted using the charging facilities provided for this purpose under Bed & Breakfast Ravelin .
Charging electric cars via household sockets, extension cables or other non-designated facilities is not permitted. Electric cars may only be charged via the designated charging facility of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin .
Electric bicycles may be charged. There is a special charging station available in the secured bicycle area.
The usage costs will be charged separately at the applicable rate at that time, and this only applies to charging a car, charging bicycles is free of charge.
Any damage to installations, buildings or properties as a result of incorrect loading or improper use is entirely at the expense of the guest.
§3.6 Obvious errors in prices, offers and publications
Despite the greatest possible care, prices, descriptions, availabilities, or other information on the website, booking platforms, advertisements, emails, or other communication channels may be incorrect due to technical failures, synchronization problems, system errors, human errors, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Obvious errors and mistakes do not bind Bed & Breakfast Ravelin at all.
If a manifest error is discovered, Bed & Breakfast Ravelin the guest will be informed as soon as possible and a corrected proposal will be made.
In such a case, the guest has the right to cancel the reservation free of charge if they do not wish to agree to the corrected conditions.
To the extent permitted by law, Bed & Breakfast Ravelin reserves the right to object to an incorrect statement in accordance with §119 BGB.
§4 Payment
When making a direct reservation via the website of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin the total price, the chosen extras and the applicable payment conditions are displayed before finalizing the reservation and are subsequently stated in the reservation confirmation.
Unless a deposit or full prepayment is expressly indicated in the reservation confirmation, the full amount must be paid at the latest upon arrival and prior to using the accommodation.
When a deposit or full prepayment is required for a booking, the amount due and the latest payment date will be stated prior to completing the reservation and in the booking confirmation. Payment must be received within the stated period.
If a required down payment or advance payment is not received on time, Bed & Breakfast Ravelin may give the guest a written additional payment period. If payment is not made within this period either, Bed & Breakfast Ravelin reserves the right to cancel the reservation. The applicable cancellation conditions and any cancellation fees due remain in force.
Costs for services booked during the stay, extra consumption, breakfast, dinner, BBQ, pets, charging an electric vehicle or other additional facilities must be paid at the latest at check-out, unless otherwise agreed.
When booking through an external booking channel, such as Booking.com or another booking platform, the payment conditions displayed by the relevant channel during the booking process apply. For additional services booked directly with Bed & Breakfast Ravelin , the payment conditions of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin apply.
Payment can only be made using the payment methods offered during the reservation process, in the booking confirmation or on site by Bed & Breakfast Ravelin Any bank or transaction fees charged by the guest's bank or payment service are at the guest's expense.
§4.1 Additional services
Costs for additional services, including but not limited to breakfast, dinner, BBQ, minibar consumption, charging costs for electric vehicles, pets and other extras, must be paid at the latest upon departure.
§5 Check-in and check-out times
Check-in is possible between 3:00 PM and 10:00 PM, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Check-out must take place no later than 11:00 AM. Guests are requested to inform the host in advance of a later arrival.
The regular check-in at Bed & Breakfast Ravelin is possible from 3:00 PM.
Do you want to check in before 3:00 PM? Please contact us in advance. Early check-in is possible only if confirmed in advance by Bed & Breakfast Ravelin.
If you arrive before 3:00 p.m. without a prior appointment, this does not mean that your room is available earlier. In that case, we kindly ask you to return at or after the regular check-in time.
The same applies to a late check-out. Extending the use of the room beyond the regular check-out time is only possible when this has been agreed upon with us in advance and confirmed by us.
Additional charges may apply for late check-out. The possible surcharge depends on the desired time of departure and the availability of the room.
Early arrival or late departure does not automatically entitle you to an adjusted check-in or check-out time.
§6 Use of the accommodation
The guest should handle the accommodation, inventory, and facilities carefully.
Smoking is only permitted in designated outdoor areas. Causing excessive noise, organizing parties or events, using drugs, or any other activities that are against the law, public order, or house rules are not permitted.
The guest is liable for all damage caused during the stay by himself, fellow guests, visitors or pets.
§7 Liability
Bed & Breakfast Ravelin is only liable for damage resulting from intent or gross negligence, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
Liability for loss, theft or damage to guests' property is excluded, unless there is intent or gross negligence.
The statutory liability provisions of German law remain unaffected.
§8 Force Majeure
Force majeure refers to any circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin that renders performance of the agreement temporarily or permanently impossible.
This includes natural disasters, extreme weather conditions, fire, power outages, pandemics, government measures, strikes, technical failures and other unforeseen circumstances.
In the event of force majeure, Bed & Breakfast Ravelin may suspend, modify or terminate the agreement in whole or in part without liability for damages, to the extent permitted by law.
§9 Data Protection
Personal data will be processed in accordance with the applicable provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/DSGVO) and the separate privacy statement of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin .
The current privacy policy is available via the website and forms an integral part of the agreement.
§10 Governing law and final provisions
All reservations, agreements and stays at Bed & Breakfast Ravelin are subject to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Compelling provisions for the protection of consumers that are applicable under the law of the country where the consumer has his habitual residence shall not be affected by this choice of law.
If a provision of these General Terms and Conditions is wholly or partially not part of the agreement or turns out to be invalid, the agreement remains in force for the remainder.
Instead of the non-included or invalid provision, the applicable statutory provisions according to §306 BGB shall apply.
To the extent permitted by law, the competent court of the place of business of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin shall have jurisdiction to hear disputes arising out of the agreement.
§10.1 Acceptance of terms
By making a reservation, the guest acknowledges that they have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions, the House Rules of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin , the Privacy Policy of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin and the separately published Cancellation Terms of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin .
10.1 Entering the accommodation, guest rooms and sanitary facilities
Bed & Breakfast Ravelin respects the privacy and undisturbed stay of its guests. The accommodation, guest rooms, and associated sanitary facilities, including the bathroom, shower, and toilet, are in principle not entered during the stay without a valid reason.
The guest grants Bed & Breakfast Ravelin permission to enter the guest rooms and sanitary facilities for the usual performance of the services, including:
- Cleaning the guest room, bathroom, shower and toilet.
- Changing or replenishing towels, bathmats and bedding.
- Emptying waste bins.
- Replenishing toiletries, coffee, tea and other available amenities.
- Carrying out necessary inspections, minor repairs or maintenance work.
These works in principle take place at the usual times or at times agreed with the guest. The guest may indicate that cleaning or changing towels on a certain day is not desired, insofar as this does not result in an unhygienic, unsafe or harmful situation.
When a guest does not wish to have their room cleaned, this should be communicated in a timely and clear manner, for example, verbally, by message, or using a provided sign. A request to not disturb does not apply indefinitely when there is a reasonable necessity to inspect or enter the room.
Bed & Breakfast Ravelin Furthermore, the accommodation provider reserves the right to enter the accommodation, guest rooms and sanitary facilities without the prior consent of the guest if this is reasonably necessary to protect persons, animals, buildings, inventory or other property.
This can include, but is not limited to:
- Fire, smoke development or the activation of a smoke detector.
- Water leakage, flooding, a clogged drain, gas smell, power outage or another technical malfunction.
- A suspicion that a person or animal is in distress.
- Severe noise nuisance or the absence of a response after repeated knocking, calling or telephone contact.
- A reasonable suspicion of damage, destruction, dangerous behavior or improper use of the accommodation.
- A reasonable suspicion of the presence of unregistered guests or visitors.
- A reasonable suspicion of prohibited substances, criminal offenses, illegal activities or a serious violation of the General Terms and Conditions or House Rules.
- An unhygienic situation, strong odor nuisance, serious pollution or circumstances that could cause damage to the room, bathroom, shower, pipes or inventory.
- An essential inspection, repair, cleaning or maintenance operation that cannot reasonably be postponed.
If the situation permits, Bed & Breakfast Ravelin will knock beforehand, announce their presence, and attempt to contact the guest. If the guest does not respond, is unreachable, or immediate action is necessary, the room may be entered without prior permission.
Access to the room remains limited to what is necessary for cleaning, service, inspection, repair, or in case of an emergency. Personal belongings of the guest are not touched, opened, or moved without necessity (if necessary, we will move goods).
The guest should store valuable, fragile, or personal belongings in such a way that cleaning activities can be carried out safely and without risk of damage. Bed & Breakfast Ravelin is not liable for damage caused by personal belongings being left unsecured, unstable, or in a location that hinders cleaning activities, unless there is intent or gross negligence.
When there is a suspicion of criminal offenses, danger to persons, or serious violations, Bed & Breakfast Ravelin the police, fire department, emergency services, or other competent authorities can be contacted.
The guest will be informed, as soon as reasonably possible and permitted, when the room or sanitary facility has been accessed outside of regular cleaning or service times, and the reason for such access.
These documents form an integral part of every reservation and agreement.
