General Terms and Conditions of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin
§1 Scope of Application
These General Terms and Conditions apply to all reservations, contracts, and stays at Bed & Breakfast Ravelin, located in Rees-Mehr, Germany.
These General Terms and Conditions are drawn up in accordance with the provisions of the German Civil Code (Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch – BGB), particularly §§ 305 to 310 BGB regarding General Terms and Conditions.
The General Terms and Conditions become part of the contract when the guest is informed of these conditions before or when making the reservation and agrees to their applicability.
Individual written agreements between Bed & Breakfast Ravelin and the guest take precedence over these General Terms and Conditions.
§2 Conclusion of the Contract
The contract is concluded as soon as a reservation is confirmed by Bed & Breakfast Ravelin.
Reservations can be made via the website, booking platforms, by phone, email, WhatsApp, or other reservation options offered by Bed & Breakfast Ravelin.
§2.1 Non-binding reservations or options
A request, phone conversation, quote, or request to hold rooms do not constitute a reservation. We do not hold rooms or stay dates on a non-binding or provisional basis. Rooms are only reserved when there is a valid booking confirmed in writing by us.
Until a confirmed booking exists, the rooms remain available for other guests.
If a booking is cancelled, the reservation is fully revoked, and the rooms are released again. A new booking at the applicable prices and conditions is required for a new stay.
§3 Services and Prices
Bed & Breakfast Ravelin offers accommodation as described on the website and via affiliated booking platforms.
All stated prices are in euros (€) and include the legally applicable VAT, unless expressly indicated otherwise.
Unless otherwise specified, breakfast, minibar consumption, charging costs for electric vehicles, and other additional services are not included in the accommodation price.
Breakfast is only available upon prior reservation due to procurement, preparation, and staffing planning.
§3.1 Breakfast, Dinner, and BBQ
Breakfast, dinner, and BBQ are offered per person and per overnight stay exclusively, as far as they are offered by Bed & Breakfast Ravelin, and charged accordingly. Exceptions can be made upon request.
The availability of a dinner or BBQ depends on the date of stay, occupancy, and the capabilities of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin. A dinner or BBQ is only part of the reservation when it has been expressly confirmed by Bed & Breakfast Ravelin and bookable on the website.
Each guest participating in breakfast, dinner, or BBQ must be registered in advance and pays the applicable rate for themselves. This also applies if a guest only uses part of the respective meal.
When booking, the meal option corresponding to the guest's actual age at the time of the stay should always be chosen. For children aged 3 to 5, the rate 'Breakfast (3–5 years)' must be selected if available. If a guest does not fall within this age category, the rate 'Breakfast from 6 years' should be chosen.
If different rates for adults and children are offered for dinner or BBQ, the option corresponding to the actual age of the guest should also be chosen.
Sharing meals between guests or with non-registered visitors is not permitted. Non-registered visitors may only participate in a meal after prior approval from Bed & Breakfast Ravelin and payment of the applicable rate.
If an incorrect age category or meal option has been selected, or if more people participate in a meal than booked for, Bed & Breakfast Ravelin reserves the right to adjust the reservation and the corresponding price and charge the respective costs subsequently.
This arrangement applies to both adults and children.
§3.2 Pets
Pets are only allowed after prior approval from Bed & Breakfast Ravelin.
A fee of € 10.00 per dog per night is charged for bringing a dog.
The pet owner remains responsible at all times for the behavior of the animal and for any damage, pollution, nuisance, or additional cleaning costs caused by it.
Any damage will be fully reimbursed to the guest.
§3.3 Visitors and Additional Overnight Stays
Receiving visitors is only permitted after prior approval from Bed & Breakfast Ravelin.
Persons who are not registered as guests are not allowed to stay overnight in the accommodation.
Violation of this may result in immediate termination of the stay without entitlement to refund. Any additional costs will be charged additionally.
§3.4 Exclusive Stay
Bed & Breakfast Ravelin is always rented exclusively to one group at a time.
During the stay, no other (foreign) guests are accommodated in the accommodation.
§3.5 Electric Vehicles
Charging electric vehicles is only permitted using the charging facilities provided by Bed & Breakfast Ravelin.
Charging electric cars via household sockets, extension cables, or other non-designated facilities is not allowed. Electric cars may only be charged at the designated charging station of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin.
Electric bikes can be charged. A special charging option is available in the locked bike room.
Charging costs are billed separately at the applicable rate and only apply to charging a car; charging bikes is free of charge.
Any damage to installations, buildings, or property due to incorrect charging or improper use is entirely at the expense of the guest.
§3.6 Obvious Pricing, Offer, and Publication Errors
Despite the greatest possible care, prices, descriptions, availabilities, or other information on the website, booking platforms, advertisements, emails, or other communication channels may be incorrect due to technical failures, synchronization problems, system errors, human errors, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Obvious errors and mistakes do not bind Bed & Breakfast Ravelin.
If there is an obvious error, Bed & Breakfast Ravelin will inform the guest as soon as possible and make a corrected proposal.
In that case, the guest has the right to cancel the reservation free of charge if they do not agree to the corrected conditions.
To the extent permitted by law, Bed & Breakfast Ravelin reserves the right to contest an incorrect statement in accordance with §119 BGB.
§4 Payment
When booking directly via the website of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin, the total price, chosen extras, and applicable payment conditions are displayed before finalizing the reservation and then mentioned in the booking confirmation.
Unless a deposit or prepayment is explicitly stated in the booking confirmation, the full amount must be paid no later than upon arrival and before using the accommodation.
If a deposit or full prepayment applies to a reservation, the due amount and the final payment date are shown before finalizing the reservation and in the booking confirmation. The payment must be received within the specified period.
If a required deposit or prepayment is not received on time, Bed & Breakfast Ravelin may give the guest a written additional payment period. If payment is still not made within this period, Bed & Breakfast Ravelin reserves the right to cancel the reservation. The applicable cancellation conditions and any cancellation fees remain in force.
Costs for services booked during the stay, extra consumption, breakfast, dinner, BBQ, pets, charging an electric vehicle, or other additional facilities must be paid no later than at check-out, unless otherwise agreed.
For bookings made through an external booking channel such as Booking.com or another booking platform, the payment conditions displayed by the respective channel during booking apply. For additional services booked directly with Bed & Breakfast Ravelin, the payment conditions of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin apply.
Payment can only be made using the payment methods offered by Bed & Breakfast Ravelin during booking, in the booking confirmation, or on-site. Any bank or transaction fees charged by the guest's bank or payment service are at the guest's expense.
§4.1 Additional Services
Costs for additional services, including but not limited to breakfast, dinner, BBQ, minibar consumption, charging costs for electric vehicles, pets, and other extras, must be paid no later than at departure.
§5 Arrival and Departure
Check-in is possible between 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Check-out must take place no later than 11:00 a.m. If arrival is expected to be delayed, the guest is requested to inform Bed & Breakfast Ravelin in advance.
§6 Use of the Accommodation
The guest must handle the accommodation, inventory, and facilities with care.
Smoking is only permitted at designated outdoor locations. Causing excessive noise pollution, organizing parties or events, using drugs, or other activities that conflict with the law, public order, or house rules are not allowed.
The guest is liable for all damage caused during the stay by themselves, fellow guests, visitors, or pets.
§7 Liability
Bed & Breakfast Ravelin is only liable for damage resulting from intent or gross negligence, unless mandatory legal provisions provide otherwise.
Liability for loss, theft, or damage to guests' property is excluded unless caused by intent or gross negligence.
The statutory liability provisions of German law remain unaffected.
§8 Force Majeure
Force majeure refers to any circumstance outside the reasonable sphere of influence of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin that makes performance of the contract temporarily or permanently impossible.
This includes natural disasters, extreme weather conditions, fire, power outages, pandemics, government measures, strikes, technical failures, and other unforeseen circumstances.
In case of force majeure, Bed & Breakfast Ravelin may suspend, modify, or terminate the contract in whole or in part without liability for damages, to the extent permitted by law.
§9 Data Protection
Personal data is processed in accordance with the applicable provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/DSGVO) and the separate privacy policy of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin.
The current privacy policy is available on the website and is an integral part of the contract.
§10 Applicable Law and Final Provisions
All reservations, contracts, and stays at Bed & Breakfast Ravelin are subject to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Mandatory provisions for consumer protection that apply according to the law of the country where the consumer has their habitual residence are not affected by this choice of law.
If a provision of these General Terms and Conditions is wholly or partially excluded from the contract or turns out to be invalid, the remainder of the contract remains effective.
In place of the non-included or invalid provision, the applicable statutory provisions shall apply in accordance with §306 BGB.
To the extent permitted by law, the competent court at the registered office of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin has jurisdiction over disputes arising from the contract.
§10.1 Acceptance of Terms
By making a reservation, the guest declares that they have read and agree to these General Terms and Conditions, the House Rules of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin, the Privacy Policy of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin, and the separately published Cancellation Policy of Bed & Breakfast Ravelin.
10.1 Access to Accommodation, Guest Rooms, and Sanitary Facilities
Bed & Breakfast Ravelin respects the privacy and undisturbed stay of its guests. The accommodation, guest rooms, and associated sanitary facilities, including the bathroom, shower, and toilet, are in principle not entered without a valid reason during the stay.
The guest grants Bed & Breakfast Ravelin permission to enter the guest rooms and sanitary facilities for the usual performance of services, including:
Cleaning the guest room, bathroom, shower, and toilet.
Changing or replenishing towels, bathmats, and bed linen.
Emptying waste bins.
